The TANICS robot had another successful demonstration on its tour of Britain, this time making the journey north to JGC’s Trials, Testing & Training Facility in Thurso, Scotland.
As the robot went to work tacking and welding behind a safety screen, the guests watched along via a monitor linked to a camera behind the screen.
The TANICS team were able to take questions and provide a live commentary of the system, explaining each stage of the process as it was happening on the monitor.
Once the demonstration had finished and the test piece had cooled, the guests were invited to take a closer look at the robot and the finished weld. This also provided an opportunity to speak in more detail about the specifics and technicalities of the system.
